Highlights: Manchester United 3-1 Reading

United were brilliant in the second half to knock Reading out of the FA Cup. Wout Weghorst took advantage of the backheel of Aaron Wan-Bissaka's cross early on and it was close to goal before Marcus Rashford forced a save from Joe Lumley after a free-kick on target.
United's in-form Rashford tipped the ball into the back of the net after half an hour, pouncing on a loose ball and heading it over the post, but Weghorst was ruled offside in the attack and the goal was ruled out as invalid.Erik ten Hag’s men survived a scare when Junior Hoilett forced a save from David De Gea just before the half-time whistle, as the teams went into the break goalless.

But it was the hosts who opened the scoring when Anthony passed a superb pass to Casemiro, who finished in front of Lumley. There was no clean sheet for the hosts, though, as Amadou Salif Mbenghe got consolation with a header from a corner. Minutes later, the Brazilian doubled his advantage with a curling kick from outside the box into the back of the net. United managed to see through the rest of the encounter by closing shop against their ten-man opponents as they reached the fifth round.
