Rangers and Newcastle United will meet in a pre-season friendly at Ibrox Stadium on Wednesday, July 18, 2023. The match is being played to celebrate the long and esteemed career of 41-year-old goalkeeper Allan McGregor.

Rangers are coming into the match on the back of a 6-0 win over Sunderland in their previous pre-season friendly. The Gers have also made some significant signings in the summer transfer window, including Antonio Colak, John Souttar, and Rabbi Matondo.

Newcastle United, meanwhile, have also been active in the transfer market, bringing in the likes of Sven Botman, Nick Pope, and Matt Targett. The Magpies will be looking to build on their impressive end to the 2022-23 season, when they finished 11th in the Premier League.
