Former United Scout: Reds Highly Unlikely to Let Zirkzee and Mainoo Leave in January Window
November 6 – Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown has stated that it is "highly unlikely" the club will allow Joshua Zirkzee and Kobbie Mainoo to depart in the January transfer window, despite reported interest in the duo.

Mick Brown commented: "Amorim does not want to lose any players in January. United have found themselves in this situation due to their own decisions, particularly in how Mainoo has been handled since the summer."

"Mainoo was one of the team's standout performers last season, yet now he is suddenly getting almost no playing time and has to deal with interest from other clubs. That’s clearly not an ideal situation. Still, I don’t believe United will agree to let him leave mid-season – whether as an impact substitute or a rotation option, he remains very important."

"The situation with Zirkzee is similar. Although he has been on the fringes for some time, even if he isn’t playing every match, he is a player worth keeping in the squad. I’m not sure if he would be content with such a role, but from the manager’s perspective, Amorim wants to keep him as a useful option for depth."

"You never know when a scenario like multiple player injuries might arise, and in those moments, these squad players become crucial. Therefore, I believe it is highly unlikely that United will let Zirkzee or Mainoo leave in January – and the same likely applies to other peripheral players in the squad."
