Spending Again? Romano: Liverpool Highly Likely to Make Moves in January Window, Target More Than Just Ouattara
December 22 – Prominent journalist Fabrizio Romano updated his YouTube column, discussing several clubs. Regarding Liverpool, he provided updates on striker Alexander Isak's injury situation and the club's potential activity in the January transfer window.

On Isak's Injury and Liverpool's January Plans
The news on the injury front from Liverpool today is not good. Swedish forward Alexander Isak suffered an injury in the match against Tottenham, and initial assessments suggest it could be serious. According to a report by *The Athletic* tonight, Liverpool's medical staff suspect a possible fracture based on their experience.

Currently, we are all waiting for official confirmation from Liverpool, but those close to the player share a similar feeling. If the injury is as suspected, it could mean Isak faces several months on the sidelines.

So, this is another unfortunate injury blow for Liverpool. We'll have to watch closely how this might impact the transfer market if Liverpool decide to act in January and which positions they might target for reinforcements. Based on my information, Liverpool had already begun making inquiries about some market opportunities in November, such as Dango Ouattara, as I mentioned previously. Now in December, they have started contacting other players to explore potential options. I will keep monitoring Liverpool's movements in the January window.

We will try to understand the detailed nature of the injury and the approximate recovery timeline, which will help us better grasp how Liverpool might approach the winter window. In my view, there is a possibility for Liverpool to be active in January. So, let's keep an eye on this. I mentioned Ouattara – as I discussed in a video on this channel a few days ago, and as other outlets have also confirmed – Liverpool inquired about Ouattara's situation in November. However, two clubs are now actively pursuing the Bournemouth winger: Manchester United and Manchester City.

I can share that both Manchester United and Manchester City have had direct contact with Ouattara's camp after a series of connections from Monday-Tuesday and even over this weekend. They are trying to understand the situation and have discussions with the player's representatives. As I informed earlier, Ouattara has a £65 million release clause valid until January 10. So, this clause has a short validity period, not covering the entire window, which also allows Bournemouth time to find a suitable replacement.

Therefore, both United and City are actively negotiating, hoping to sign Ouattara. As I explained a few days ago, you can find all the details in the videos on this channel. From my understanding, Tottenham are not currently advancing for this deal. Liverpool have not progressed since their inquiry in November.

But let's see how Liverpool's transfer decisions for January unfold as the situation becomes clearer. That's the current landscape. Let's see what decision Ouattara makes. In this case, the player's own will is crucial, given the £65 million release clause.

So, the player needs to decide what he wants – this is more key than negotiating with Bournemouth, as the price is set and the fee must be paid. Perhaps one could attempt to negotiate the transfer fee, explore that possibility, but the cost is very clear at £65 million.

We will continue monitoring how the Ouattara situation develops.
