Juventus Appoint Marco Ottolini as New Sporting Director
December 24, 2025 – Juventus have finalized the appointment of Marco Ottolini as their new sporting director, marking the completion of a major restructuring in the club's front office.

The 45-year-old Italian has signed his contract, with only final document checks pending before the official announcement, according to reliable sources including transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Ottolini will report directly to CEO Damien Comolli, who has overseen transfer operations on an interim basis since the summer.

Ottolini returns to Juventus, having previously worked at the club from 2018 to 2022, initially as a scout and later managing loaned-out players. He left for Genoa in 2022, where he served as sporting director until October 2025. During his tenure at Genoa, Ottolini orchestrated a successful rebuild, securing promotion from Serie B in his first season and achieving stable mid-table finishes in Serie A. His savvy transfer dealings generated significant profits, notably through sales like Radu Drăgușin to Tottenham for €25 million and Mateo Retegui.

The move fills a vacancy left by Cristiano Giuntoli's departure following a challenging 2024-25 campaign. Comolli, promoted to CEO in November, prioritized Ottolini amid a wide search that included international candidates.

Ottolini's immediate focus will be the January transfer window, as Juventus aim to bolster squad depth amid injury concerns and push for Champions League qualification. His expertise in scouting and youth development aligns with the club's goals for financial sustainability and long-term planning.
