Crystal Palace Complete Club-Record £48m Signing of Jørgen Strand Larsen

Crystal Palace have finalized a club-record transfer by signing Norwegian striker Jørgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a package worth up to £48 million. The deal, confirmed late on January transfer deadline day 2026, includes an initial fee of £43 million plus £5 million in potential add-ons.
The 25-year-old forward joins Selhurst Park on a four-and-a-half-year contract, with an option for an additional 12 months, and is set to wear the No. 22 shirt. Strand Larsen arrives after a mixed spell at Wolves, where he scored 14 Premier League goals in the 2024-25 season but managed only one in 22 appearances this campaign following his permanent move from Celta Vigo.
Palace pushed ahead with the ambitious signing despite Jean-Philippe Mateta's proposed transfer to AC Milan collapsing on medical grounds. Rather than offloading their existing striker, the Eagles retained Mateta, creating competition up front under manager Oliver Glasner as they aim to strengthen their attacking options in a competitive mid-table push.
The move represents significant investment from Palace, marking one of the largest fees between non-Big Six Premier League clubs in recent years. Wolves secure a healthy profit on their previous acquisition, while Strand Larsen gets a fresh start to revive his form in south London. Fans will hope the tall, physical forward can deliver consistent goals and help elevate the team's performance in the second half of the season.
