Bahia Secure Permanent Signing of Argentine Striker Alejo Véliz from Tottenham

In a significant boost to their attacking options, Brazilian Serie A club EC Bahia have reached a full agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for the permanent transfer of young Argentine forward Alejo Véliz.

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the "Here We Go" deal on February 5, 2026, revealing an initial fee of €9 million (approximately £7.8 million), plus performance-based add-ons. The 22-year-old, who previously earned praise from Lionel Messi for his potential, will remain on loan at Rosario Central in Argentina until the end of his current spell in June. He will then undergo his medical and officially join Bahia for the second half of the 2026 season.

Véliz joined Tottenham in August 2023 from Rosario Central in a deal worth around €15 million, but struggled for first-team minutes in north London.
