Paris Saint-Germain Stars Shine in 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards Nominations

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has secured a remarkable triple nomination for the prestigious 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards, recognizing the club's and players' exceptional achievements in 2025.

Ousmane Dembélé leads the charge, earning a spot among the nominees for Laureus World Sportsman of the Year. The French forward, who claimed the 2025 Ballon d'Or, starred in PSG's historic campaign, scoring 35 goals and providing 16 assists across club and country. His pivotal contributions helped PSG secure a sextuple of trophies, including their first UEFA Champions League title with a dominant 5-0 final win over Inter Milan, alongside a domestic treble, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Young talent Désiré Doué, just 20, is shortlisted for Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year. The winger made an immediate impact after joining PSG, notably scoring twice and assisting once in the Champions League final, accelerating his rise to elite status.

PSG itself is nominated for Laureus World Team of the Year, competing against powerhouses like the England Women's football team, McLaren's Formula 1 squad, and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Other Sportsman nominees include tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis, MotoGP champion Marc Márquez, and cyclist Tadej Pogačar. Winners will be decided by the Laureus World Sports Academy and announced at a gala ceremony in Madrid on April 20.
