Haaland Double Fires Norway Past Senegal 3-2 into World Cup Last 32

Erling Haaland scored a brilliant brace as Norway survived a late scare to edge Senegal 3-2 at MetLife Stadium, securing their spot in the World Cup knockout stage.
The breakthrough came in the 43rd minute when Marcus Pedersen punished a defensive mix-up between Senegal's backline and goalkeeper Édouard Mendy to slot home his first international goal. Norway doubled their advantage right after halftime when Martin Ødegaard beautifully threaded a pass to Haaland, who ruthlessly smashed it into the top corner.
Senegal fought back in the 53rd minute when Sadio Mané found Ismaïla Sarr, who slid the ball past Ørjan Nyland. However, Norway responded swiftly five minutes later. Haaland volleyed home Patrick Berg's cross off the underside of the crossbar to restore the two-goal cushion with his fourth goal of the tournament.
Sarr struck again in stoppage time to set up a tense finish, but Norway held on. Combined with France's 3-0 victory over Iraq, both European nations have advanced from Group I with six points each. Norway will face France this Friday at Gillette Stadium to decide who tops the group.
