Mbappé Masterclass Fires Dominant France into World Cup Last 16

Kylian Mbappé scored twice as a rampant France cruised into the World Cup Round of 16 with a commanding 3-0 victory over Sweden at MetLife Stadium.
The French attack dictated the tempo from the opening whistle, but the breakthrough arrived just before half-time. In the 45th minute, Michael Olise combined brilliantly with Ousmane Dembélé off a short corner, releasing Mbappé, who cut inside and unleashed a trademark curling strike into the far corner.
Les Bleus carried their momentum into the second half and doubled their advantage in the 53rd minute. Olise turned provider once again, threading a precise through-ball to Bradley Barcola, who calmly slotted a low effort past the Swedish goalkeeper.
The match was put well beyond doubt in the 74th minute. The unstoppable Mbappé latched onto another superb delivery from the creative Olise to fire home his second of the night, securing his place at the top of the tournament’s scoring charts.
Sweden struggled to breach a disciplined French defense and exits the competition after a tough tactical lesson. Meanwhile, a soaring France advances to the next knockout round, firmly cementing their status as tournament favorites.
