Adeyemi and Yamal Shine as Barcelona Defeat Monaco 3-1

Barcelona kicked off their Champions League campaign in style on Thursday, securing a dominant 3-1 away victory against Monaco at the Stade Louis II to avenge their previous defeats against the French side.

The Catalan giants took control early, breaking the deadlock in the 12th minute. Summer signing Karim Adeyemi showcased his electric pace, latching onto a brilliant through ball before calmly slotting it past the keeper. Barcelona doubled their advantage in the 35th minute when Lamine Yamal cut inside from the right wing and unleashed a trademark, spectacular curling strike into the top corner.

Monaco fought back in the second half and found a lifeline in the 62nd minute. Japanese playmaker Takumi Minamino capitalised on a loose ball in the box, firing a precise shot into the far corner to make it 2-1.

However, Hansi Flick’s men extinguished any hopes of a comeback in the 78th minute. Substitute Pablo Torre turned provider, sliding a perfectly weighted pass to Raphinha, who smashed a powerful low effort into the net to seal the 3-1 win and secure a perfect European start for Barcelona.
