Lazio Hit Six to Overwhelm Ten-Man Sassuolo and Claim Serie A Top Spot

Lazio stormed to the summit of Serie A following a chaotic and goal-heavy 6-2 victory against Sassuolo on Sunday. The thrilling encounter at the Mapei Stadium featured eight goals, a direct red card, and two penalty saves in a masterful display of attacking football.

The visitors enjoyed a dream start as Kenneth Taylor opened the scoring after just two minutes. Although a Josip Sutalo own goal briefly drew Sassuolo level, quickfire strikes from Gustav Isaksen and Romano Floriani Mussolini re-established Lazio's dominance. The game shifted decisively in the 31st minute when Sassuolo midfielder Kristian Thorstvedt was sent off for a reckless tackle. Mattia Zaccagni head home a fourth before the break, while Tijjani Noslin added a second-half brace to complete the rout.

Despite the heavy defeat, Sassuolo goalkeeper Stefano Turati emerged with immense credit. He produced two spectacular penalty saves in the second half, denying both Zaccagni and Davide Frattesi from the spot to prevent an even larger scoreline. The emphatic win highlights the clinical frontline of Lazio, who now lead the Scudetto race, leaving ten-man Sassuolo searching for answers after a defensive collapse.
