Arsenal have seen an improved bid of £70 million for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo rejected
An initial £60 million bid from the Gunners for the 21-year-old was rejected on Friday, with Brighton making it clear they are determined to keep Caicedo until the end of the season. But Arsenal made an improved offer for the Ecuador international late on Sunday, with a bid of around £65 million, with a further £5 million in add-ons.
The Premier League leaders hoped this would be enough to lure Brighton into business, but the Seagulls were again quick to reject the offer. Arsenal must now decide whether to return with a third bid or turn their attention elsewhere as they look to bring in a midfielder ahead of Tuesday night's transfer deadline.
Caicedo, who was told by Brighton to stay at home until the window closes, issued a statement on Friday night saying he wanted to leave this month.
