Romano: Manchester United Yet to Finalize Casemiro's Wage Terms in Potential New Deal

November 13 – Prominent journalist Fabrizio Romano provided updates on several clubs in his latest YouTube column, including the contract situation of veteran midfielder Casemiro at Manchester United.
Romano stated that there has been considerable discussion surrounding Casemiro. Currently, he remains a crucial player for Manchester United. The club internally holds him in high regard, as he has regained the trust of both the coaching staff and the fans through sheer hard work – a feat that speaks volumes about his determination. Through relentless effort, Casemiro has re-established himself as a key figure in the team.
However, his contract situation is inevitably under the spotlight. At present, his wages are considered too high for United, reportedly exceeding £300,000 per week. If United wish to extend his stay, they must find a viable solution, though no negotiations have taken place in this regard yet. A similar situation applies to Harry Maguire – if the wage issue cannot be resolved, Maguire may leave as a free agent.
Additionally, Casemiro has received multiple offers, primarily from the Middle East, particularly clubs in Saudi Arabia. He remains a target for many teams, but his future will largely depend on financial terms. For now, Casemiro is fully focused on his performances and determined to help Manchester United overcome their challenges. Whether he stays at the club, however, will hinge on the outcome of wage negotiations. Manager Rúben Amorim hopes to continue working with Casemiro, but any agreement will ultimately come down to finding common ground on the financial aspects.
Regarding Kobbie Mainoo, Romano added that the young midfielder remains on Napoli's shortlist, as the Italian club plans to sign a midfielder in January. However, any move for Mainoo depends entirely on Manchester United, who are reluctant to let him go.
