Isco Signs Contract Extension with Real Betis Until 2028

Real Betis have secured the long-term future of star midfielder Isco Alarcón, with the club officially announcing a new contract that will keep the 33-year-old at the Benito Villamarín until June 2028.
The former Spain international, who joined Betis on a free transfer in July 2023 after a brief spell at Sevilla, has been one of La Liga’s standout performers over the past two seasons. Since his arrival, Isco has registered 15 goals and 12 assists in 60 league appearances, rediscovering the creativity and vision that once made him a key figure in Real Madrid’s five Champions League triumphs between 2014 and 2018.
The extension ends speculation about a potential return to bigger clubs or a move abroad, with Isco repeatedly expressing his happiness in Seville. Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo praised the player’s influence both on and off the pitch, highlighting his leadership in a squad pushing for European qualification.
The new deal includes a significant salary increase and reportedly removes any release clause, underlining the club’s determination to build their project around the Malaga-born playmaker. Isco’s renewal is the latest statement of ambition from Betis following recent investments in infrastructure and youth development.
