Arsenal Crush Bayern Munich 3-1 to Secure Top Spot in Champions League League Phase

London, 27 November 2025 – Arsenal delivered a commanding performance to defeat Bayern Munich 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, maintaining their perfect home record in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League league phase.
Jurrien Timber opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a powerful header from a Bukayo Saka corner. Bayern equalised ten minutes later through Leon Karl, but the Gunners regained control after the break. Substitute Noni Madueke restored Arsenal’s lead in the 69th minute with a clinical finish, before Gabriel Martinelli sealed the victory with a composed strike in the 77th minute.
The result means Mikel Arteta’s side have now won all five of their home matches in this season’s league phase without conceding a single goal at the Emirates, scoring 30 times in the process across ten fixtures. Declan Rice, named Man of the Match, anchored midfield with authority as Arsenal inflicted Bayern’s first defeat of the campaign.
With the league phase concluded, Arsenal finish top of the 36-team table and earn a bye to the round of 16 plus seeding advantages in the knockout draw. Bayern, despite the loss, remain in the top eight and also advance directly to the last 16.Arsenal will discover their next opponents when the knockout bracket is drawn in February 2026.
