March 1 – In Atlético Madrid's 1-0 victory over Real Oviedo, Julio Díaz made his first-team debut, playing the entire match. After the game, he spoke to the media.

"It's the dream of every Atlético Madrid kid. My performance is thanks to my teammates. It's an honor to wear this shirt."

He won back the ball that ultimately led to the winning goal – a ball that others might have given up on, but Julio didn't, and it paid off. "Winning every challenge, helping the team – it's amazing, I'm so proud."

The 21-year-old Díaz is a regular starter for Fernando Torres's B team and is considered one of the most promising young talents in the squad. The player joined Atlético Madrid's youth setup from Rayo Vallecano in 2018.
