Tijjani Reijnders Set to Join Al Qadsiah in €61m Switch from Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders is on the verge of joining Saudi Pro League outfit Al Qadsiah after all parties reached a verbal agreement, football insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed with his trademark "Here we go!"

The reigning Premier League champions have accepted a €61 million (£52 million) written proposal for the Dutch international, securing a slight profit on the €55 million they paid AC Milan just last summer. AC Milan is also set to benefit financially from a sell-on clause included in the initial deal.

The 27-year-old midfielder sat out Manchester City’s latest training session as he prepares to fly out to Saudi Arabia. Currently, officials from both clubs are exchanging formal legal documentation ahead of an official contract signing.

The surprise move comes after reports that Reijnders felt increasingly unsettled under manager Enzo Maresca, who frequently deployed him as a number 10 rather than his preferred box-to-box number 8 role. Al Qadsiah’s lucrative five-year, €100 million contract package ultimately convinced the midfielder to make the switch to Asia.

City plans to use these funds to aggressively pursue Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez as part of a midfield overhaul.
