Brighton Stuns Arsenal with Dominant 3-0 Victory

Brighton & Hove Albion delivered a tactical masterclass on Saturday, defeating Arsenal 3-0 at the Amex Stadium to end the Gunners’ perfect start to the Premier League season. The stunning victory served as a perfect celebration for Brighton's 125th anniversary.

The Seagulls opened the scoring in the 31st minute when veteran midfielder Pascal Groß unleashed a brilliant long-range strike that rattled the inside of the post before hitting the net. Arsenal struggled to find their rhythm, and things worsened just before halftime. Following a swift counterattack, Greek forward Charalampos Kostoulas fired a low shot into the bottom corner, making it 2-0.

Arsenal dominated possession with 57% in the second half but failed to break Brighton’s resilient defense, registering only one shot on target all match. In the 57th minute, debutant Txama Andrés sealed the historic win, heading home a precise Groß corner at the far post.

The result lifts Fabian Hürzeler’s Brighton to third place in the table with 10 points, just two points behind the league leaders. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal suffers their first setback of the campaign, dropping to second on goal difference.
