PSIM Yogyakarta Retains Core Local Talent with 12 Players Confirmed for 2026/27 Season

PSIM Yogyakarta have taken an important step in preparing for the 2026/27 season by retaining 12 local players from last year's squad. The decision followed a thorough assessment by the club's management and coaching staff, reflecting their confidence in maintaining a strong foundation for the upcoming campaign.
Head coach Iksan Mahar believes the retained players have the ability to compete at a higher level despite some of them receiving limited playing time last season. The club sees significant room for growth within the group and considers continuity an essential part of its long-term development strategy.
Defensive stability remains one of PSIM's priorities, with goalkeepers Harlan Suardi and Khairul Fikri continuing as key figures between the posts. They are joined by several returning local players, including Savio Sheva Maresca, Muhammad Iqbal, Riyatno Abiyoso, Andy Irfan, Raka Cahyana Rizky, Rio Hardiawan, Renda Teddy Wijanarko, Reva Adi Utama, Ghulam Fatkur Rahman, and Dianda Diaz Dewari.
The coaching staff believes the blend of promising young players and experienced senior figures will provide the right balance for the team. This combination is expected to strengthen PSIM's competitiveness while creating a stable environment for player development throughout the season.
By keeping the majority of its local core intact, PSIM aim to build consistency and stronger team chemistry heading into the 2026/27 campaign. The club hopes the renewed trust placed in these players will translate into improved performances and help the team compete more effectively in the new season.
