Persib Secures Defensive Future with Kakang Rudianto on New Three-Year Deal
Persib Bandung have strengthened their long-term plans by extending the contract of defender Kakang Rudianto for another three years. The 23-year-old center-back will now remain with the club until the end of the 2028/29 season, highlighting Persib's commitment to maintaining stability within the squad.
A graduate of the club's academy, Kakang has developed into one of Persib's most reliable defenders since earning promotion to the senior team in the 2021/22 season. His steady improvement and consistent performances have convinced the club that he will continue to play a key role in the team's future.
Initially introduced to help satisfy the league's under-23 player regulation, Kakang quickly proved his value through his performances on the pitch. His playing time increased significantly over the past two seasons, where he established himself as a regular starter thanks to his work ethic, consistency, and continuous development.
Since making his league debut, where he also scored his first senior goal, Kakang has gone on to register 79 appearances in Indonesia's top flight. He has also gained valuable continental experience by featuring in six AFC Champions League Two matches across the 2024/25 and 2025/26 campaigns.
By securing Kakang on a long-term contract, Persib continue to reinforce their strategy of building the team around homegrown talent. The extension reflects the club's confidence that the young defender will remain an important figure as Persib pursue further domestic and international success in the coming years.
